A 20-YEAR-OLD from Cheddar is urging cyclists to put on their helmets after he nearly died after smashing his head against a car window at 25mph – crumpling his dad's £3,000 bike.
Steve Sayer, who lives at Draycott Park and works at South West Karting, says he wouldn't be alive if he hadn't worn his helmet.
"Last Tuesday, I was cycling down the Axbridge bypass towards Winscombe, as I've done hundreds of times before," he said.
"To be honest, I don't even remember leaving work, but...
